It's been a while... So here's a cool band: JunkBunny

Well! It's been a while since something was posted here, we're active on socials and as you may know we created a Podcast (www.mindcassettes.com) were you can listen to us talk about music under various scenarios. It's become a regular creative bubble full of enthusiasm. It's certainly a lot easier than sitting and writing, even though it takes 7 hours to produce, that says a lot about writing!

Out of interest these are the Episode's we've done. Episode 9 to be released in week or 2 (lockdown considered)

During preparation for Tony Hawk episode this band kept showing up on my feed, call it coincidence or targeting marketing, either way I kept seeing them! Then I heard their song in THPS last week and it all made sense! But they are awesome, 100% the best thing coming out of American right now!

If you like punk, check out this modern twist on vintage pop/skate punk!

New Music - ADALIA - Chemical Hearts

Is Brighton full of noisey girls and loud guitars?

A year or 2 ago we featured Yonaka on this very blog, who have grown and grown. Blood Red Shoes, Black Honey, even The Go! Team are all from Brighton. However, A new fighter has joined the game, and it doesn't sound like they are content with following in their footsteps. ADALIA come from Brighton, but they are looking to carve their own path. Actually, they are looking for World Domination, more on that shortly...

In 2018 they hit the scene with a 5 song grunge-pop EP, 'Stray Hearts', with dirty guitar riffs and moody lyrics, it's clear ADALIA drew their early inspiration from across the pond. Stand out track 'Royals' channels bands like Dead Posey and Flyleaf, whereas 'The End's is an atmospheric ballad and a real showcase of singer, Corey Plant's emotional vocal range. This is a band that isn't afraid to dip between genres to put their message across, and they are about to make their biggest leap yet.

In a few days, ADALIA will drop a brand new single, 'Chemical Hearts', and we were lucky enough to get a sneak preview. A familiar intro quickly makes way for a burst of energetic-emo-skate-pop-punk! If 'Stray Hearts' tells a story of a band being backed into a corner by an unforgiving world, 'Chemical Hearts' has them bursting out of the corner, armed with a fresh attitude and a middle finger! Just like the emo-superstars they take their name from, this new confidence really suits them!

I had the chance to speak to Corey about the upcoming launch, and a few other things:

ALOMR - Hello. Thank you for chatting to us. Would you mind introducing yourselves to the readers?
ADALIA- Why hello there, I’m Corey Plant, the lead singer of ADALIA, a collision of Brighton-based, misplaced misfits serving alternative rock madness with a quirky twist. Now taking their first steps towards world domination. On guitar, we have the wonderful Sam Cotton and on the drums, equally as lovely, Jordan Hart.

ALOMR- I recognise the name Adalia from Chicago Superstars 'Madina Lake', is that a coincidence, or are you fans of the band, like me?
ADALIA- Hey, someone else who appreciates their genius as much as we do! They are such an underrated band, aren’t they? Yes, the name originally comes from them. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to interview Matthew Leone (creator, bassist) about the world of Madina Lake, the whole concept that forms the band’s foundations, specifically Adalia’s origin. As we talked about everything she stood for, something just aligned. Whilst our ADALIA isn’t a replica of, or even a direct reference to theirs – the only thing they really have in common is the name – the principles surrounding who she is are very similar. It was the perfect name that represents everything we stand for as a band.

ALOMR - Wow, what an honour. I am really into their earlier work, I'm pretty sure I still have 'From Them, through us, to you' on CD. Any other influences?
ADALIA- I think that one of the best things about us, as a band, is we have so many different influences as individuals that we all draw upon when we write. Jordan is addicted to New Release playlists but is a fanboy for bands like Don Broco. Sam is the ultimate pop-punk guy with a not-so-secret-love-affair with pop. I grew up on classic 80s hair metal but am infatuated with gothic/emo piano ballads. I’m fascinated with concept records and bands, so take heavy influence from writers such as Jim Steinman (another highly underrated writer), Madina Lake, Andy Black etc. From that, you have the strange concoction that is ADALIA.

Ultimately, as a band, we take a lot of influence from bands such as Madina Lake, obviously, The Pretty Reckless, You Me At Six, Juliet Simms, Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, The Maine. There are too many bands to name, but those tend to be the ones that pop up when looking for inspiration when writing.

ALOMR - We love the new single! It's out in a couple of days. It seems to have a pop-punk, summery vibe to it. Tell us about the song.
ADALIA- Thanks!
Yeah it’s a slightly different style to our usual - I mean it’s closest relative is probably ‘Victorious’ from our debut EP ‘Stray Hearts’ - but even then ‘Victorious’ has a slightly darker undertone. We constantly kid that ‘Chemical Hearts’ is one of few of our ‘happy’ songs, as usually, we're those angsty post teens commenting on the state of our worlds through a slightly cracked lens. We wanted to write something different. A pop-punk anthem for the lost souls, who are tired of pretending, tired of trying to fit in. It’s about chasing a feeling, something you can’t quite define, but knowing that it’s the thing you’ve been waiting for. It’s the transition of figuring it out to letting go - embracing it and grasping ownership of your true colours.

ALOMR- How has the Coronavirus lockdown affected you? It must be hard on a band trying to make a name for itself, especially when launching a new single?
ADALIA - It’s weird. In some ways it’s really hard. We can’t lock ourselves away in a rehearsal room to write and experiment. We can’t play live. Which is killing us slowly, as there’s something about the live experience that can’t be described. We’re really missing that interaction. As you know the music community is something truly spectacular. We’ve had to cancel a lot of gigs which would have been perfect to really push these single launches. We’ve just started making a name for ourselves and that’s been put on hold.
But, on the flip side, this pandemic has opened a lot of opportunities. It’s forced us to look at our brand and our social media presence. Socials are such huge platforms that help everyone stay connected, so we’ve recentred our thinking. World domination can’t just happen in the live scene, after all! This has also meant a lot of people are looking for new bands and releases to break up the monotonous redundancy of the lockdown life they’re stuck in. People who would usually just listen to whatever playlist Spotify throws at them that day, are now actively searching. That and the community is more supportive than ever for emerging and new bands. Every cloud has a silver lining right? This seems to be ours.

ALOMR - World Domination!! You talk a lot about that. What are your plans after the lockdown, and what's in store for ADALIA in the future?
ADALIA - Okay, that question just immediately made me think of the kid’s cartoon ‘Pinky & The Brain’, “Pinky: Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight? Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky - try to take over the world!”

ALOMR - Brilliant!
ADALIA- In all seriousness, we love playing live. At this point, we just want to get back on stage and play. Ultimately, we want to share our music worldwide and have the chance to tour new cities and continents playing the songs we adore to new and familiar faces. We want to make a difference in people's lives. Be a band that someone can fall back on, escape with and use to help them fight their darkest moment but also be their anthems for their ultimate highs.

In the near future, as you said we have a new single being released June 12th, our first in 3 years, which we are super excited about as it’s a personal favourite to play live. Following that, we have another single ready and waiting. But we’re just itching to get back on stage to try out some new material we’ve been working on during lockdown, as that’s where we belong!

Be sure to check out the new single as soon as it drops. Check back here on June 12th.
In the meantime, go check out ADALIA on Spotify, and go show the band some support over on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

We would like to thank them for taking the time to talk to us, I'm sure this won't be the last we hear of them. World Domination!!

Able's Army - Old Songs

ALOMR favourites and Yorkshire's very own, Ables Army have just released a goodie bag of tunes on Bandcamp.
Compiled of, you guessed it, old songs, that they no longer play live, with a couple of alternative, early versions of songs they still do. This collection gives us a glimpse into the Huddersfield trio's early days, with songs they recorded at home.

Not as raw as you'd expect from what is essentially a "Garage EP", the band's soulful, shoegazing swagger is evident, a blueprint of the throwback Rock n' Roll they would go on to produce in last year's brilliant EP, God Won't Let Me Stop.

My personal highlight comes from track 3, britpop sounding "Toluca To The North", with a catchy chorus blaring between foot tapping verses. I also enjoyed the very well placed scream on track 1 "Something New". It's always quite nice joining others as they take a trip down memory lane, and that is essentially what has happened here. For the rest of us, we have some great little songs we normally wouldn't have been able to hear before.

Old Songs by Able's Army is available now on Bandcamp, where you can name your price. Also, be sure to check out God Won't Let Me Stop on Spotify, and give the lads some support over on Instagram and Facebook.

New Podcast - Mind Cassettes episode 1

As we embark on this challenging time, like most people, we find ourselves in a whirlwind of monotony, reflection and creativity. Off the back of Mr Foxon's recent Tony Hawk's post, we began to reflect on music in pop culture and those tracks that spark nostalgia and excitement. The Tracks that play in our minds and remind us of the good times been, those tracks that we think of in certain situations in life.

Then one bright spark had the idea of recording our discussion and thoughts, and here was born... MIND CASSETTES. Hosted by our very own Mr Foxon.

Check out episode 1 now at MindCassettes
Warning; explicit content and mature references, we discuss GTA gameplay so if the game isn't your cup of tea you might want to swerve this episode. (Or skip to 44mins when we discuss the Top 15 tracks, still some references though)

Follow us @mindcassettes on twitter and Instagram. Tell us your favourite GTA track and why.

JAEKO - Colder Than The Sea - a review

Hi Guys, hope everyone is doing good in these unprecedented times? I’ve been extra busy painting abstract shapes onto a wall only for the paint to bleed under the tape....quackers tape apparently the best you can get 🙄 I’ve also been slamming the BBQ living my best life getting my pasty arse burnt and fat(ter)...

I’m going to give you all a little bit of joy with the following song, it is to be released on the 23rd May and we at ALOMR have been given early access!

Set a reminder in the diary to check out the newest song from our newest friends JAEKO called Colder Than The Sea It’s absolutely amazing.

From my first listen earlier in the week I haven’t stopped playing it, my first impression is that it is one of the rawest most polished songs I’ve ever heard. Me and the rest of the team at ALOMR all love it, we have been unable to say who they sound like, the drumming is rhythmic, the guitars are a thing of beauty and the vocals just get you pounding those rock hands in the air. What about the bassist you ask, no idea am sure they are doing there best with the limited 4 strings 😂

A word of warning however... do not drive and crank this song, at best you will get 3 points at worst well let’s put it this way the NHS is busy enough. A band hasn’t had me going this fast since the first time I heard False Heads.

I cannot wait to get some tour dates from these guys, I will be there on the front row! Hopefully soon we will have a bit of a Q&A with them so we can get into their minds and what makes them tick.

Check them out before next Friday to get a taste of their brilliance. They've been on our recent playlists and here on Spotify.

Give the guys your support when the new single hits with plenty of listens, you won’t regret it.

Take Care

Riche

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Some epic news has just dropped! Activision are remaking the spectacular Tony Hawk's Pro Skaters 1 & 2 in one, beautiful, amazing, 4K package for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Why are you talking about video games on the best music blog in the world, Chris? Well, friend, the answer to that is easy: Tony Hawk's 1 & 2 had Fuckin' bangin soundtracks!! I am excited as hell!!

If you're my age and into the same things I'm into, your fondest memories will be kick-flipping around downtown Chicago, grinding along handrails in a virtual mall or doing lip tricks on the edge of a school swimming pool. Also, like me, you're probably into the music you're into because of the soundtrack to these games!

I can honestly say, I'd probably never heard 'May 16' by Lagwagon if it wasn't for THPS2, and now it's one of my favourite songs of all time. I am a huge fan of Primus, the first track I ever heard was 'Jerry Is A Racecar Driver' on THPS!

Licensing laws are a tricky thing to navigate these days, so I don't know what songs will make it into the remake, but take a look at the trailer above, featuring 'Police Truck' by The Dead Kennedys! Activision assure us 'Superman' by Goldfinger makes its return, and let's face it, that's the one we want!

It's out September 4th, and hopefully it's gonna kick ass!!

In the meantime, here are my top 10 tracks from the original 2 games!

1. Guerilla Radio - Rage Against The Machine
2. Superman - Goldfinger
3. May 16 - Lagwagon
4. Blood Brothers - Papa Roach
5. You - Bad Religion
6. Cyclone - Dub Pistols
7. New Girl - The Suicide Machines
8. Police Truck - Dead Kennedys
9. Jerry Was A Racecar Driver - Primus
10. When World's Collide - Powerman 5000

May 2020 - New music playlist

Whilst 2020 just keeps getting crazier and the world is either working from home, furloughed or live streaming, I'm here grinding the 9-5+. The emails and PR coming through to us thick and fast, I'm struggling to keep up with all the great tunes. Luckily our Mr Foxon and Riche are on hand to listen, enjoy & post on ALOMR behalf.

That said, I've been compiling a list of tracks that have got my feet tapping in May both submissions to us and those we find whilst perusing the net.

I've got a bunch of music to take you on this journey. Starting you off slow with some mellow alternative indie, moving through to pick up the pace with some modern Indie, a touch of metal and little Punk.

Starting with something chilled and relaxing that I missed in my last playlist

(Alternative)
Mehro - Perfume. This beautifully graceful acoustic indie/alt romantic oozes 70s undertones perfectly balanced melody with a smooth baseline that almost reminds you of your heartbeat, it seems all of this is designed you make you feel in the song. Mehro's vocals get deep into you and I'd go as far as saying this Californian is your next ASMR fix both audibly and visually!

Mehro frustratingly only has one track online and it will crave you wanting more, which might explain why he's topped over 1.5m Spotify plays! He's hands on in the production of the video too and I'd suggest checking it out too!
Mehro

Alex Luca - Only the River another title that's hitting big numbers and Alex also only has one track up. This Italian born now Liverpudlian pianist has another emotion grabbing voice bringing a jazzy alternative beautifully calm song to just enjoy.

Owen Denvir - This Could Be Love. This Belfast singer is about to release his 2nd EP Bones and this is the first single off it. This acapella Indie/Pop ballad is true reflection of what an artist can do with their own voice, as so much of the track comes from samples of his own voice and audio glitching in his home during lockdown.

(Indie/Electro/Punk)
Birthday Card - Radio Star. Moving into a little alt-electro-pop from Buckinghamshire quintet band Birthday Card. They've got a nice Daft Punk-esq and MGMT feel, this is their latest track released onast Friday.

Blazar - Better. Raising the tempo, these guys dropped into our inbox, I don't have a huge amount of info but they have a Gorillaz vibe to them, tho it's a poppy Gorillaz meets Justin Timberlake! It's different but in a good way.

The Reytons - Headache. Here we go, one of our favs! The Yorkshire lads with another anthem packed with catch lyrics and this lovely rifts synonymous to the the East- England indie we know and love! ... Coz I don't need the 'eadache n I don't need the agro 'gro 'gro 'gro
The Reytons

JAEKO - Cold Hard Killer. Another DM from the PR world we're so grateful for, otherwise we might not have heard thie newcomer as quick. The progressive rifts and cratchy chorus will have you singing this indie anthems hook for days in end. This one came out a few months ago but it's new in playlists. Keep an eye out for a little more from that's guys soon.

No ID - I Don't Know. Here's another band you'll find yourself digging into more. The St Ives indie band puts The Strokes and Arctic's as influences and this 5 piece let that show. Personally I'm loving some of the sweet bass lines running through this track and that build up after the bridge, wow!

(Let's ramp up the grunge!)
False Heads - Ink (off debut Album It's All There by you're Dreaming). Ahhh this came out a few weeks since now and I can't not include it. If you haven't read our previous posts on FH check them out, reviews, gigs and interview all in the archives! These three bring some serious punch live and their album is a great representation of modern music taking influence from across the spectrum. Ink is the latest installment of beauty! If you have the opportunity (in the post-covid world) to see False Heads get your grungy pit on and get a ticket!
False Heads' Debut Album

Parallel Motion - Slave. Florida based high octane modern metal band. Parallel motion provide a melodic catchy energy for when you want a little Metal in your life.

I've still got plenty in the bag, so don't go too far.

For now,
M x

Tiger Mimic - It Was Still Dark

Being up North, we tend to cover the Manchester and Yorkshire scene more than any, with Michael's radar firmly set on Scotland, we often overlook what's going down south.

Watching False Heads tear apart Manchester's Soup Kitchen last year, Michael pointed out Alan Wells to me, a photographer with his finger firmly on the pulse of everything modern, everything loud and everything London.

Every now and again, I'll flick through his Instagram, check out his photos and listen to the bands on Spotify, I'll always find a few gems. One gem I found sparkled a little more than the others. That gem? Tiger Mimic.

50% American, 50% English, 100% cool, Tiger Mimic stick out because they are doing something a bit different. A trait which shines through on their new single 'It Was Still Dark'.

The silky soft vocals tell a story of two people who find themselves in a strange place. Singers Jess and Bram often give you a nostalgic Rhythm and Blues buzz, while the most catchy guitar hook you will hear all year, funky skate-punk bassline, quick-fire drum fills and "Hey's" keep the adrenaline pumping. You won't know whether to mosh or to slow-dance.

For fans of Metric or The Strokes, Janis Joplin or The Dead Kennedys (I know, right?), Tiger Mimic are a band worthy of your attention. Formed in 2018, when Jess R (vocals and keys) and Bram Johnson (vocals and guitar) moved to the UK and joined with Ben Willis (Bass) and George Latham (drums), they have a groovy EP, Elephant Skeleton, and will be dropping new music over the coming months.

'It Was Still Dark', produced by Kevin Vanbergen, who has worked with the fabulous Nova Twins, is Tiger Mimic's most polished and catchy work to date, and I'm sure you'll find it on many an ALOMR playlist in the near future. That damn riff will be stuck in my head for weeks!!

We will keep you up to date with all things Tiger Mimic, and hopefully get to see them live once we are allowed to play out again. I totally recommend following them on Instagram too, Jess and Bram have really embraced the lockdown with some brilliant acoustic "at home" sessions and plenty of silliness. Having had a brief chat with them, I can confirm their personalities match the quirky music and psychedelic lyrics.

Go check out 'It Was Still Dark' on Spotify and Bandcamp. While you're at it, check out last year's EP, and show them some support on Instagram and their Official Website.

I think we need to start paying more attention to London!

20 years of Papa Roach - My Top 10

Papa Roach!

Papa Fuckin' Roach!

Summer 2000, I was 16, and heavy metal was the only thing I cared about. I lived in Germany, where metal was huge. We had UK Satellite TV and I would tape music videos off MTV2 and Kerrang and then watch them over and over again. The only 2 videos I can 100% confirm were on that tape? 'Last Resort' and 'Between Angels and Insects' by Papa Roach. I had a CD wallet that I would carry around in my school bag, the first CD in that wallet? 'Infest' by Papa Roach. I got a white pair of Adidas Superstar trainers, because that's what Jacoby from Papa Roach had on in their videos. When I saw Fight Club for the first time, I remember saying "cool, this film has Papa Roach lyrics", it never occurred to me that it was the other way around. Safe to say, I was a huge fan. Why wouldn't I be? They took Nu-Metal and they perfected it!

Saturday the 25th of April 2020, and we are in a global lockdown. Things are completely different, I'm 36 now, I have a job (I think) and a wife, and I don't sit in skate parks, I don't live in Germany, I don't tape music videos off MTV2, I don't even know if MTV2 is still a thing, I don't have a CD wallet, but you know what? I still love that album. I had a listen yesterday, and the memories came flooding back, the day 'Infest' by Papa Roach turned 20.

So what do they mean to me today, as a grown up? I've seen them live twice, Blood Brothers is my ring tone, they find themselves on nearly every car playlist I make, and my best friend, Kris, insists on requesting 'Broken Home' every time there is a DJ playing rock music, and every time, we dance our asses off. So what do they mean to me today? Exactly the same!

Here are my Top 10 Papa Roach songs from their amazing 20 year career. Join me in saying Happy Birthday to one of the coolest bands that ever graced our eardrums.

10. Renegade Music
A return to the raw, aggressive, Papa Roach energy, later in the band's career.

9. ...To Be Loved
Fast, fun, and the first Papa Roach song to be used as the theme tune for Raw.

8. Time And Time Again
The second single from their second album, a belter.

7.  I Almost Told You That I Loved You
The best song from Metamorphosis, and proof that the band could adapt and change with the times, they didn't need to keep rapping (although I wish they would).

6. Face Everything And Rise
The title track off the F.E.A.R album, probably Papa Roach's most grown up work.

5.  Broken Home
It's raw, it's real, the subject isn't nice but the song bloody kicks ass. And I dance to it every time I'm out with my boy!

4. Between Angels and Insects'
The second single, great video, great tune. Did you know they used some of the lyrics in Fight Club?

3. Scars
Probably the most iconic Papa Roach song apart from "that one", and rightly so, an absolute epic.

2. She Loves Me Not
This is a beast. It's always hard to follow a great first album, not many bands can do it. Throw out a tune like this and you're safe.

1. Last Resort
"That one", the obvious number one. The rock night dance floor filler for 20 glorious years. I've heard this in indie clubs, metal clubs, rap clubs, it's iconic, it's catchy, and it's never going anywhere.

Happy Birthday Papa Roach. I love you!

Stop what you're doing and listen to 'Love & Error' by Chapter and Verse

It's so exciting to catch bands when they are on the brink of something really special.

When you find a great band playing in a pub, or a small venue in front of 20 people, you follow them on Instagram and join them on their long journey.
Or, on the flip side, you get into a band after their first mega hit single comes out and they are on the radio, and you see them in a club or bigger venue with a great atmosphere.
Some people get into bands well into their career, and see them at festivals with fireworks and stage shows.
The point is, there is no bad time to get into a band.

...but there is a best time to get into a band.

For Chapter & Verse, that time is now.

We had the pleasure of seeing the UK 5-piece supporting ALOMR favourites, Poets Of The Fall in December 2019.
We arrived part way through their first or second song, and immediately got caught up in the catchy pop-rock exposition. While not blown away, they definitely left something in me, as the following day I added songs from their first EP 'Glow' to various playlists. As I expected, I grew to really like them.

Then, they kept adding other songs, and they kept getting better. At the end of January they dropped 'Sweet Time', and that did blow me away! This is it!

Their second EP is a collection of 5 songs, and it's their best work to date. This is the edge they needed! These are their top 5 songs! I don't like them any more, I love them.

The EP gets your heart racing from the get-go with opening track 'Bad Blood'. Check out the video:

Straight to business, then, with a super catchy, quick and fun banger which sticks it's middle finger up to toxic relationships and broken hearts.

Track 2, 'Beauty Sleep' and another song about past relationships and forgotten love. Another belter that will have you longing to get out there and dance. So how cruel of Chapter & Verse to release this in the middle of a global lockdown. Let's not dwell on the nastiness outside. Unfortunately, the pandemic has meant that the band can't perform launch parties, or travel up and down the country playing the songs to new audiences and growing their fan base. The silver lining, is of course we all have more free time, and I urge you to spend some of it listening to these guys.

The third song is the first of the 2 I hadn't heard previously. With 'Always' we are in a more indie territory. The passion really shines through at this epic midpoint, and the feeling and anguish is clear as day in singer Josh's most sentimental display.

Here we go. Track 4, and my favourite Chapter and Verse song. 'Sweet Time' is just brilliant. A quick exhale and we are straight into a quick drumbeat and vocals from the start. Poppy verses are interrupted by a surprisingly heavy chorus, with chuggy guitars and the catchiness of a summer anthem that deserves to have festival crowds bouncing. Phenomenal track that I, for one, will be listening to for months. Mint! It's got a bloody guitar solo too!

How do you follow that? 'Where We've Been' closes the collection. A slower pace, the closing credits on this twisty ride through anger, heartache, picking yourself up and starting again. The theme is a new beginning in love, putting the past behind you and looking towards the future, and it runs alongside the story of this band who may have just turned the corner to something really special.

I certainly hope so, and I can't wait to see these guys again live soon.

Love & Error is out now, go check it out, it really is worth it. A solid display of talent, and a finger on the pulse of alternative music in 2020, a middle finger that is!

Chapter and Verse are:
Josh Carter - Vocals
Darren Gosling - Guitar
Jonny Hopwood - Bass
Ash Morton - Guitar
Kevin Miller - Drums

March 2020 - New Music Playlist - Indie & Chill

Its been a while since I posted some new music and I've got a handful of new tracks to share. There is a selection of my favorite tracks that bands send in and some of these are bands I've stumbled upon in my musical journey.

So if you're in need of a new pick-me-up or some music to enjoy whilst you self-isolate from the world (whether that be because of this years deadly virus or just because you need don't like people) - then you've come to the right place! Playlist here and embedded below; Indie & Chill - March 2020

Joesef - Think That I Don't Need Your Love, we bumped into Joesef's guitarist James whilst in Glasgow watching Weekend Debt and what a find this is! He's been compared to Amy Winehouse and you will understand why, with his cool mix of chilled soul, jazz, bluesy, easy music to relax your soul.
Check out the EP Play Me Something Nice.
Also check out Joesef's Tour as the guys are down from Scotland to tour the UK over the next few weeks. We're going to YES to see them.

Dancing On Tables - Not to Need You, I also really like Body and Black. These 5 lads from Fife make up the Pop-Rock band, they have a really funky sound which literally makes you want to dance on tables. Check them out and if you're quick they're are the start of a nationwide Tour!

Snowflake Generation - Wake Me Up is there new track, Part of Me & Madness are on Spotify and they are decent tracks too. They're really coming along and getting a bit of a following in the Midlands and take a lot a influence from some of our favs! They're also doing a few gigs around Birmingham, Wrexham and London - we've got our eyes on when they come to Manc!

The K's - Got a Feeling is there new track, we also really like Glass Towns! The K's are a fast pace than the last 3 the have a similar vibe to No Hot Ashes & Weekend Debt so they're gonna be a winner in our books. There's some very Punky tracks too, bonus.

ZORILA - Sidney is their new album, I think Disaster is one of the best tracks, you can find it on the playlist. They sound really chilled but energetic and reminded me of a faster more upbeat Turnover

Weekend Debt - Legato we can't have a playlist that's heavily Scottish and not include Weekend Debts latest track! Every great playlist must include this banger it's got some chunky pace to it.

Sam Fender - Hold Out Need I say more, if you haven't heard of Sam Fender then you're really living under rock. Hold Out is the latest release and currently not main stream radios so get your fill here

The Hunna - Cover You The Hunna have been on my radar about 4 or 5 years now and their first album 100 was my sound of the summer 2016! Seeing them at Dot-to-Dot you could see they had something special. The 2nd album lost me, I think it was too much of the Label and not enough Hunna.. anyway they are back, teamed up with John Feldmann (Goldfinger/BigNoise) (!!!) for album 3 and released this corker with Travis Barker, its definitely a step toward the early Hunna.

As we're on the lines of some good chill music how about Paul Bank's (Interpol) new band Muzz and their very loungey track Bad Feelings

for now,
